In preparation for the retirement of Edward F. Johnson, LCG’s President & CEO, at the end of 2024, LCG’s Board of Directors announced that James J. Challen, CFA, CAIA will succeed Edward F. Johnson as CEO, and Claire P. Chotiner, CFA, CAIA will assume the role of President at the beginning of 2024.“The Board and I are excited to watch James and Claire lead the firm through the next several decades. We’re fully confident that these two will excel in their new roles,” said Edward F. Johnson. “Their success not only in client‐relationships, but also in managing internal teams, in addition to supporting all LCG departments are a few of the many reasons the Board has voted James and Claire as our company’s next leaders.”
LCG has hired Christopher Philips, CFA as Senior Vice President and the Firm’s Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (“OCIO”) Practice Leader. The new role is a result of LCG’s continued success in the OCIO space. Philips will be responsible for implementing OCIO best practices as well as expanding business development. Additionally, Christopher will conduct capital market and asset class research, investment manager due diligence, and special topical studies. “Christopher’s wealth of experience in the OCIO marketplace and his alignment with LCG’s client-service focus are two of the reasons we are so delighted to welcome him to LCG’s leadership team," said Edward F. Johnson, LCG’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
LCG marks its 50th anniversary of providing independent investment advice on May 21st and is named Quality Leader in Overall U.S. Investment Consulting ‐ Midsize Consultants by Greenwich Coalition. “In 50 years of business, LCG’s goal has remained unchanged: to provide a select number of clients with highly customized advice and serve as an ‘extension of staff’,” said Edward F. Johnson, LCG’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
LCG has promoted Adam J. Laubacker, CAIA to Senior Vice President. “Adam’s promotion highlights his hard work and commitment to LCG. Since joining the firm over 22 years ago, he continues to be a leader, supporting the needs of both his colleagues and LCG’s clients. Please join us in congratulating Adam on this major accomplishment,” said Edward F. Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer.
LCG was named as a 2021 Greenwich Quality Leader in the midsize firm category. This is LCG's third consecutive, and fourth time in five years, receiving this designation. “We work hard to provide excellent client service and are humbled and excited to have received the award again this year,” said President and CEO, Edward F. Johnson.
LCG promotes the following individuals: Taylor L. Covey, CAIA is promoted to Vice President, Co‐Director of Private Investments, Senior Consultant; Rowan A. Harmer, Brendan W. Lucier, CFA, CAIA, and Jonathan D. Lea, CAIA are promoted to Vice President, Consultant; and Collin N. Pounders is promoted to Consultant.
LCG Associates, Inc., a national, independent investment consulting firm, promoted Rachel E. Foss to Consultant. She is based out of the Atlanta office. Foss has 6 years of industry experience and joined LCG in 2015. Her responsibilities include investment strategy development, manager due diligence, special research projects, and providing investment advice to clients.
LCG Associates, Inc. a national, investment consulting firm, promoted Claire P. Chotiner, CFA, CAIA to Chief Operating Officer. Chotiner was also elected to LCG’s Board of Directors. In her new role, she will oversee the firm’s business operations. In addition to her management responsibilities, Chotiner works with a limited number of clients as well as conducts capital market and asset class research.
LCG Associates, Inc., a national investment consulting firm, was named as a 2020 Greenwich Quality Leader℠ in the U.S. midsize firm category. LCG previously received this designation in 2019 and 2017. It is based on the Greenwich Quality Index (“GQI”) score, which aggregates clients’ assessments of their organization’s investment consultant in the areas of investment advice, manager selection, and client service.
